Terri Orf

Executive Advisor

Terri Orf is an entrepreneur and innovator in the healthcare space.  Prior to founding Inpatient Management, Inc (IMI) in 1997, a Hospitalist company with turn-key hospital contracts nationwide, Terri lived and worked in Los Angeles, CA as a healthcare executive for PHC and Tenet Health.  Upon returning to her hometown of St. Louis, Terri served as physician and healthcare executive recruiter for Cejka and Co. Terri built IMI from the ground up, securing initial capital from seasoned investors, broadband exec Howard Wood (Charter/Cequel 3) and telecom exec Jim Barnard (LDX). IMI was key to ushering in the most significant change in the delivery of inpatient care in 40 years, and its operational model remains the gold standard for Hospitalist inpatient medicine today. From 1997 to 2011 when IMI was sold, the company had secured contracts with hospitals in over 30 states, employing nearly 400 physicians, allied professionals, medical billing, and corporate staff. Since the sale of IMI, Terri has enjoyed the opportunity to serve as an advisor and mentor to dozens of aspiring entrepreneurs in the St. Louis area, including serving as a panel judge for Washington University’s Skandalaris Center for Interdisciplinary Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Terri brings expertise in operational excellence, enterprise financing, workforce development, and leadership.
